How YOU Blow Up On Social Media?

Gary Vaynerchuk: How to blow up on social media..

If you don’t know who Gary Vaynerchuk is, it’s not because he’s hard to find. Vaynerchuk has been creating daily content since 2006, when he launched his Wine TV series on YouTube. Because of his online marketing, he grew his family’s wine business from $3 million to $60 million.

In 2011, he walked away from the business to start VaynerMedia, a social media focused digital agency. The company provides social media and strategy services to Fortune 500 companies.

In the midst of running a company, that grosses over $200 million in sales annually, he somehow finds time to create content on every available platform: He’s written New York Times bestselling books, he hosts a successful podcast, he has a popular YouTube channel, and he obsessively posts on social media.

I had a chance to chat with Gary at ComplexCon, a hip hop and sneaker convention, where he was promoting his own line of sneakers, The Gary Vee 003.

Since Gary has been successful on social media for over ten years, I asked him for some advice on how to grow an audience on social media:

Obsessively Create Content

“What I’ve done well is documenting my day-to-day. I’ve done such a good job of creating content because when I’m in between meetings, and I go to the bathroom, I can go on Twitter. I can reply to a DM. Tonight, when I’m on a flight back to New York, I can go live for seven minutes. I can reply to 84 DMs. I can send three tweets. I am in constant motion,” Vaynerchuk said.

Give, Don’t Take

Gary focuses on giving first, before he asks for something. He stated, “For me, it’s give, give, give, ask. Giving with expectation is manipulation. Giving without expectation is letting karma be practical. I think the more talented you are, the more capable you are at giving. I’ve always known how to make money. So, I don’t need anything from anyone else. So, my ability to give is easy.”

Don’t Take Your Audience For Granted

Say you’re a great tattoo artist. You’re teaching people, creating value, etc. Then all the sudden you’re hawking every tattoo t-shirt out there. Your audience is going to care less and follow the next girl or guy who’s giving. Giving and taking is a delicate balance and I’d rather be on the giving side,” Gary said.

Be Yourself

Gary Vaynerchuk is an entrepreneur, a Jets fan, a YouTuber, a hip hop head, an investor, and a million other things. Many experts would say that’s confusing to an audience. They’d suggest focusing on one subject to create content around. Gary disagrees. He said, “I think everyone can do it successfully (showing multiple sides of themselves online) as long as you’re true to yourself. If I went to a surfing conference, and tried to be in it, it wouldn’t work. If you’re not about it, you’re finished. I think anyone can be anything they want, as long as it’s their truth.

Don’t Focus On Follower Count

Vaynerchuk said, “If followers are your KPI, then you’re finished. You have to love your process. I did WineTV for 18 months because I loved making wine videos. No one gave a fuck. I was losing money on the wine business. No one gave a shit. But I kept doing it, while I was honing my craft. I liked it. And even the one nice comment (on the video) fulfilled me. You’ve got to love your process and not focus on getting something from your process. If you’re trying to get something out of your process, you’ll always lose because you won’t be patient. You’re like, ‘Why don’t I have a fat watch or a million followers yet?’”

Be Patient

“Everyone out there has ‘lottery ticket’ mentality. They think that they’re going to make a single YouTube video and it’s going to go viral and Will Smith’s going to DM them and life’s going to change,” states Gary. Life doesn't work like that. Slowly growing an audience is the way to become successful.

"Put In The Work

“You should be putting content out every day, for seven years, without worrying about one vanity metric. People are like, 'But Gary that’s hard.’

No shit it should be hard.

If you don’t want to do it, go work at Walmart. Why should something remarkable be easy? You want people to pay you to go to Bali and take a picture on a beach? That’s remarkable. So, don’t focus on the 13 people that are doing that. Pay attention to the 30 trillion that aren’t, and realize the ratio, and go put in the work and be patient,” advises Vaynerchuk.."

10 Methods For Making Millions Online?

Sales and marketing is a numbers game.

With 2.5 billion people online and more added every day, the numbers are working for you..

Marketers Go Where The People are, and Marketing Dollars Follow

Last year, for the first time ever, marketers invested more money in digital advertising than television advertising. Today, the people are on social media platforms. Nearly 2.5 billion people use at least one social media platform each month, and companies like Facebook intended to keep expanding their reach until the whole world is on a social network.

For entrepreneurs and business leaders, the movement from traditional marketing to digital marketing represents a significant opportunity for anyone interested in created new pockets of revenue. Consider that last year nearly $27 billion was spent on Facebook ads.

If you are able to master Facebook marketing for a niche market that spends one ten thousandth of $27 billion, the total addressable market is still worth $2.7 million. This indicates how lucrative it can be to develop a business based on social media.

    1. Promote an Ecommerce Business With Look-Alike Ads

Look-alike ads are a type of ad vehicle offered by Facebook that uses machine learning to identify your target audience. They enable marketers to effectively communicate with the audience that is statistically most likely to engage with the product.

Look-alike ads have become an effective way for ecommerce entrepreneurs to quickly connect with potential customers without needing to develop marketing personas or complex go-to-market strategies.

Instead, Facebook can quickly match ecommerce store owners with ideal customers for a relatively low cost per click, while at the same time helping ecommerce entrepreneurs to quickly create sales.

In time, ecommerce can create millions simply by relying on a combination of compelling products and look-alike ads to grow customers.

    2. Start a Social Media Influencer Marketing Consultancy

The vast majority of marketers (94 percent) who rely on influencer marketing believe it is effective. Brands are finding it increasingly difficult to talk to their target audience. Prospects are better at filtering out ads and sponsored content than ever before, primarily because of powerful ad blockers.

Influencers provide marketers with an opportunity to begin a meaningful conversation with prospects, just when prospects are most receptive.

The problem is, most brands don't know how to identify the right influencers to approach, and once they're working with an influencer, they don't know how to measure success.

By starting an influencer marketing consultancy, you can provide marketers with access to an effective marketing channel that has never been more in demand.

    3. Master Instagram Stories and Become A Content Consultant

Instagram is one of the largest social media networks in the world, and Instagram Stories is helping to propel the platform to new heights. Stories is so successful, in fact, that the product is stealing users away from Snapchat.

Many brands recognize that Instagram Stories is a great medium to connect with target audience members; however, creating engaging content on a regular basis can be challenging. By mastering Instagram Stories, you can offer brands valuable advice about how to create compelling content that followers will engage with.

To add value your service, consider using an Instagram analytics tool that will help you determine what content followers are most interested in, and how that content is performing compared to your client's competitors.

    4. Gain First-Mover Advantage by Using LinkedIn's New Ad Tools

In order to compete with other social media platforms, LinkedIn has released a number of new and powerful ad vehicles that marketers will find valuable. It is inevitable that many organizations will master these new advertising options over time. However, the organization that is able to master these new tools first will have a significant first-mover advantage.

Some of the changes to LinkedIn's suite of tools include the ability to display retargeting ads and the ability to collect lead information within the LinkedIn news feed.

    5. Promote Gated Content Through YouTube Videos

YouTube is used by about 2 billion people each month, and because they are a part of Google, they offer a suite of advanced advertising possibilities. Entrepreneurs should consider starting a business that uses compelling YouTube videos to promote gated content hosted on a branded website.

Influencers like Neil Patel and Brian Dean have used YouTube videos to spread their thought leadership, which then helps to promote revenue-generating gated content.

    6. Build A Movement With Facebook Groups

People crave community. This is still true even though much of our lives is spent interacting with one another digitally. Multimillion-dollar brands like GORUCK have created thriving Facebook Groups that then help to drive sales while improving brand loyalty.

Consider starting a business that is built around a mobilizing idea. For GORUCK, that idea is related to patriotism, togetherness and the desire to improve oneself. As a result, GORUCK has become well known among outdoor enthusiasts and adventure seekers. The company's success really took off when brand enthusiasts came together on Facebook.

    7. Create Viral Growth By Constructiong The Next Great Social Media Integration

Airbnb, Uber and Periscope are all multimillion-dollar organizations that used the viral nature of social media to quickly expand their customer base. While each organization used virality differently, they were able to use some sort of social media integration to increase the speed of product adoption.

In the early days of Airbnb, the platform integrated with Craigslist to help users quickly find available apartments. Uber integrated their app with social media platforms to make it easier for users to share discount promo codes with friends. Periscope was designed to post when a person was "live" on Twitter.

If your organization can find a way to thoughtfully integrate with social platforms, the viral growth can result in millions of dollars in revenue.

    8. Master The One Social Media Platform Your Competitors Don't Use Well

Another way to think about using social media to create revenue is by finding a competitive edge. You should presume that your competitors aren't using all of the various social media platforms well, and that a substantial number of potential customers are using that platform.

If you are able to create an effective strategy, you'll be able to win over those customers without competing against your rivals.

    9. Be The First to Figure Out How to Use AR or VR on Social Media

Augmented and virtual reality are poised to impact many different aspects of life. Apple is investing in augmented reality, and Facebook and Google are investing in virtual reality. Those who are able to figure out how to best use these new technologies to connect with potential customers will be able to win valuable consulting contracts with major brands.

    10. Help Brands Gain Access to Gen Z Audiences on Social Media

Members of Generation Z are simply obsessed with social media. One study found that the average college student checks Instagram and Snapchat about 11 times each day. Yet many brands are struggling to form meaningful connections with this new generation of consumers. Those who are able to help brands connect with Generation Z audience members will land lucrative contracts with major organizations.

Social media entrepreneurship has the potential to create many millionaires. If you want to be among them, you must first master one aspect of social media marketing that aligns with the goals of prominent brands.

From there it will be relatively easy to forge relationships with companies interested in creating a compelling social media presence that connects brands with prospects.." -John Rampton

      Promoting YOUR Social Media Content?

So, you've started a blog, but you don't (yet) have the social media following to drive traffic there with a simple tweet or Facebook post..

      How do you do it?

In this video, Entrepreneur Network partner Neil Patel breaks down how you can use links within each post to help build trust with your readers, so you make sure they come back for more, and to help bring new eyeballs to your blog.

The key is to make sure that every link within your post adds value to the reader.

That way, your reader will thank you for giving them great resources on a topic, and you can create a relationship with other sites by linking to them on your blog.

        YOUR Social Media China Marketing?

With the emergence of TMall and Alibaba’s Taobao Global U.S. Merchants Network to connect U.S. small businesses with Chinese consumers, domestic small businesses now also need to look at how they can reach those customers using social media..

Sites for Chinese Social Media Marketing

The Chinese have created their own social networks, just like Facebook and Twitter, some with millions of users. This is why every small business that wants to sell its products in China needs to pay attention to these sites.

        WeChat

WeChat, also known as Weixin in Chinese, started as a messenger app with NewsFeed features, but has grown to include a multitude of other utilities. WeChat includes a Moments page, which is more or less like a Facebook Wall where users can update their status by posting videos, text, photos or articles. Users can also use the platform to order movie tickets and taxi service.

        Sina Weibo

“Weibo” is the Chinese word for “microblog”. This platform is like a Chinese hybrid of Twitter and Facebook used by more than 22 percent of China’s internet users. Like Twitter, Sina Weibo’s content flows very fast and yet it is still easy to find the most discussed topics on Weibo and use them in your marketing strategy. In addition to publishing long articles with images or short posts, hyperlinks or videos, Weibo users can also repost, comment, search and send messages on trending topics.

        Youku

Founded in 2003, Youku is more similar to YouTube, the one big difference being it contains more professionally created videos as opposed to the more user generated content of YouTube. The site is now one of China’s top online video and streaming platforms.

        Miaopai and Yizhibo

Live streaming and short video sharing has also become a popular trend in China. Short videos are a favorite because they are easy to share without the need for huge memory or bandwidth. Live streaming has also caught on in China and is experiencing unprecedented growth.

The two popular mobile apps Miaopai and Yizhibo (for short video sharing and live streaming respectively) have both partnered with Sina Weibo, allowing users to view videos directly on Weibo, and thus increasing their exposure and popularity.

        Douban

It is hard to compare Douban with the western social media platforms as it is more of an interest-oriented social networking platform and a mishmash of Spotify, SoundCloud, Imdb and MySpace. Users can book movie tickets, download ebooks, discuss books, music, movies and events. And overall, users connect with one another based on similar interests and tastes.

        DianPing

DianPing operates more or less the same way as Yelp, allowing users to review restaurants. However, it is important to note that this website takes ratings to a granular level, allowing users to vote for their favorite dishes at a restaurant.

        Renren

The platform operates much like Facebook. Launched in 2005, it largely grew popular after Facebook became censored in China. The platform even uses similar colors and designs to the orginal Facebook. However, Renren is no longer as popular as Weibo or WeChat due to its failure to anticipate the switch to mobile.

        Tencent Weibo

Tencent Weibo is similar to Sina Weibo in terms of demographics and to Twitter in terms of functionality. Users can share videos, photos and text within the 140 character limit. The platform also boasts a reposting function that works just like Twitter’s retweet function.

        PengYou

PengYou, which basically means “friend”, is another creation of the company responsible for Tencent Weibo. The “Facebook-like” site utilizes real names and emphasizes real friendships. The platform features a social area as well as a corporate outreach section that businesses can use to engage with their customers.

        Diandian

This platform can best be looked as the “Tumblr of China.” Diandian looks and feels like Tumblr and is generally described as the “perfect Chinese Tumblr clone.”
